Experience what its like harvesting your own veggies!

Heartfulness Institute Crossroads Farm and One Earth One Chance are pleased to work with folks of all ages to show what happens on a real working farm. Many people don’t realize that their food comes from a farm. Enjoy the rewarding feeling of picking fresh produce to take home to your families.

What will we be doing? We will start with a presentation/overview about organic vegetable gardening (30 mins). You can then expect to help with the following garden activities based on your age: Growing seedlings, Tilling the ground, Weeding and planting new crops, Adding mulch sheet and compost to crop rows, Adding drip irrigation and watering, Adding cattle panel trellis to protect the plants, Picking produce and packing them in bags (provided by us). The produce is available for sale.

How to prepare:

• Wear breathable clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, long-sleeve shirts and pants (to protect against bugs and the sun)

• comfortable closed-toe shoes you don’t mind getting muddy, a hat and sunglasses

• Gloves and pruners will be provided

Light refreshments will be provided; bring water in a reusable bottle.
