Climate Conference and Entrepreneurship Competition

Climate Conference and Entrepreneurship Competition

The DFW Youth Climate Conference and Entrepreneurship Competition will provide a unique opportunity to learn about climate change and its specific implications for the DFW region.

The aim is to stimulate conversations about climate change (drivers and impacts, mitigation, adaptation), empower students to act, expose them to career and networking opportunities.

The morning will consist of three panels on Climate Drivers and Impacts, Climate Mitigation, Climate Adaptation and Climate Trends.

The afternoon will feature an entrepreneurship competition where teams will compete to win seed funding for their climate action project.

The learning goals are to build an understanding of climate science and apply the knowledge to build innovative solutions. You get to do the following:

  • Discover: Observe human adaptation to environmental challenges using interdisciplinary and evidence-based solutions.

  • Understand: Develop critical thinking about environmental solutions and recognize that there’s not always a “right” answer.

  • Act: Journey to environmental stewardship as an individual or organization and take actions based on conscious choices.

This is an opportunity to build your resume with a future-proof skill set, network with professionals and receive a formal certificate.

Join a supportive and fun environment where you can connect with like-minded peers who care about the same things you do.
