Let's plant for our future.
Native trees and plants cool the North Texas neighborhoods that need it most. Now through September 17, a key donor matches every dollar you give toward them.
Campaign Goal:
$25,000

The conditions we’re planting into
3rd
DFW ranks third among U.S. metros for growing urban heat islands.
+12ºF
How much hotter disadvantaged neighborhoods run than the rest of the region.
2024
The hottest year on record worldwide, and the first at 1.5ºC above pre-industrial levels.
Why native plants, specifically
They slow rainwater runoff so more soaks into the soil, hold the ground against erosion, filter pollutants from the air, shade pavement, and, once established, need far less irrigation than the landscaping they replace. It is the cheapest cooling infrastructure a neighborhood can get.
