Grow Together at McKinney Green Gardens

  • McKinney Green Gardens at Gabe Nesbitt Park 3339 Alma Road McKinney, TX, 75070 United States (map)

Join us for a volunteer day as we plant 400 native plants at McKinney Green Gardens. The garden serves as an educational space designed to support pollinators and our local ecosystem.

Green Gardens of McKinney is located in Gabe Nesbitt Park between the water tower and Hillsdale Drive. The event is open to the public and volunteers can earn hours pulling weeds, spreading mulch, and planting the garden. It also offers learning opportunities about native and drought-tolerant gardening, water conservation, watershed protection, and the importance of planting natives for insects, birds and other wildlife.

Tools will be provided including wheelbarrows, clippers, hand shovels, shovels, rakes, and gloves. Bring water to stay hydrated. Sunscreen and bug spray are recommended.

Special thanks to McKinney Adopt-A-Spot program (https://www.mckinneytexas.org/439/Adopt-A-Spot) and the Green Gardens Last Saturday Workdays (https://www.mckinneytexas.org/2293/Green-Gardens).
